Abdul Sittar Edhi, A Great Example of Mankind

Abdul Sittar Edhi was the great humanitarian who serves the mankind throughout his whole life. He founded the Edhi Foundation which runs the ambulance services, hospitals, orphanage and the homeless shelters. In the begging, He established a dispensary in the Karachi for the poor. Edhi started his charity work in 1957. He collected some donations and he bought an ambulance. His wife, Bilquees Edhi, helped him with his charity network.
                 

Over the time Edhi Foundation expanded with the help of the private donations. This foundation established a network of 1,800 ambulances. It runs the largest volunteer ambulance service of the world. He was guardian of the hundreds of the orphanage children. Abdul Sattar Edhi was nominated several times for the Nobel prize. He was known as the Angel of Mercy. He devoted his life for the poor and the welfare works. He lived a very simple life. He is the truly hero of the mankind.

Edhi was known as the symbool of the human kind. He served all of the needy and poor people. He never begged from the people for the charity. People of his country and the outside of the country give him lots of the charity as they know that there is no fraud or anything like this. He was a great man who served other in his whole life. His life was pretty simple. His living style was very much simple which fascinates each and every person. Really, he was the richest poor man of this world.
