What is the Antikythera Mechanism | Need of Modern Era

What is the Antikythera Mechanism and how was this ancient 'computer' discovered 115 years ago? 


Antikythera is the first Analogical  Computer used by old Greeks. It was commonly used for movement of moon, the Sun and prediction of next seasons. This 2000 old computer  had ability to Add, Subtract , Multiply and Divide.
It can also predict solar and lunar eclipse and show where the sun is revolving at a particular time.
Its mechanical functions made it world’s oldest Computer.


How it was Discovered ?


A chunk of Metal , Bronze which looked like gears or like a wheel turned out to be the Antikythera Mechanism.  It was discovered in 1902.
The latest study show that it was also a fortune teller.


How old it is ?


This is very old. The various estimates shows that it was in era  85 BC and according to some other sources it is more old.
It is not clear that why it was lost and why it was not found for 1000 years because European clocks appeared 1000 years after it.

Where it can be Seen Now ?


National Archaeological Museum, Athens Greece has preserved it for visitors. People can go there and easily see it. They have preserved it for the visitors, so that, they can really easily visit and see it. It is a very good thing that it is still preserved for the people who want to see it and think that how it was at that time.
